Looks amazing!!
Why is Gaal a black woman now?
Cuz any novel written nearly 70 years ago about the future should probably be updated for a more believable adaptation.
Guessing that:
Jared Harris = Hari Seldon (no points)
Lee Pace = Eto Demerzel
Girl = Raich Seldon or Gaal Dornick
Woman with Gun shown briefly = Dors Venabili
Story = Forward the Foundation (maybe a mashup with Prelude)
I've only read the main trilogy so far (working on getting the others potentially), but I am disappointed in this.
FoxofJudyFoster, if this is still about diversifying the cast, please be considerate. Regardless of your personal reasons, sentiments like that are too often rooted in racism and sexism, and that has no place in this community.
I have no problem with these characters except for the fact that they are changing them from the original. Do I care if black women are in a TV show? Not at all.
I didn't like it. It looked like a star wars clone, not an Asimov story. The scene Seldon-Gaal was similar with a scene between a Jentai and his apprentice. For the last 45 years I imagined Gaal Dornick as a male. Why? Because it was written like that. I can not accept him becoming a black girl. Not because I am a racist but because I have to change my dreams for the last 45 years.
This post is over a year old and about the teaser. Please post elsewhere for the series itself.
