Just watched the first episode and it was an absolute struggle. The whole dynamic changed with Gaal Dornick cast as a woman of colour instead of a young white male at the start of the show. The narration therefore is woman of colour from her perspective as Seldons future biographer a completely different angle and vision to Asimovs young white male perspective. It dragged and lost me all in the name of social diversity double speak and Apple's politiking. I will not waste my time on any more episodes. This was total trash and I have gone back to the books to refresh myself. I asbolutely hope this fails as a warning to other companies who mess with source material to their own ends. Write your own stories if you cannot do justice to an original!
Lost me at the start. The aesthetics and casting are all wrong in the name of the she-verse and under the banner of diversification they just changed the whole feel and look of the books to generic star wars universe. The uniqueness of Asimov's characters and vision lost to social politiking! :( How sad. The moment you go from young white male to young black female you change the whole dynamic. At least have the guts not to try and claim this to be Asimov's vision! Struggled to even finish the first episode and certainly have no intentio of bothering with any other episodes. Instead I ordered a nice new set of Foundation series books for my bookshelf with the intent of enjoying Asimov again and painting my own fantasy interpretation in my head derived from the original source material rather than Apple's socially engineered trash. What's wrong with these big companies?
