Alstare Deamone was a yachtsman and Squire of Sark who became an unintended victim of the fugitive Townman, Myrlyn Terens, Deamone was the owner of a small but well-maintained space yacht housed in Hangar 26 of Port 9. He held a valid yachtsman's license and was known to frequent the port. He was married, and the couple maintained a sentimental tradition of meeting annually at a specific, secluded spot in City Park—the site of their first encounter—to celebrate their anniversary.
It was while waiting for his wife at this location that he was ambushed by Terens. The Townman, desperate to shed his patroller uniform and acquire a Sarkite identity to facilitate his escape from the planet, used a neuronic whip to incapacitate Deamone. Terens then stripped the Squire of his clothing, identification, and yacht license, murdered him with a blaster to prevent identification, and assumed his identity. The discovery of Deamone's body by his wife shortly thereafter triggered a major search for his killer.
