Anat Bigell is a character from Isaac Asimov's Foundation series.
About Anat[]
Anat Bigell is a mathematician from 12th millennium of the Galactic Era. A noted scholar in the field of number theory, Anat Bigell's most significant contribution to mathematics was the formulation and solution of the fundamental theorem on number theory that bears his name. His work was compiled in a manual titled Mathematical Deduction, which became a standard reference text. His theorem was sophisticated enough that, three hundred years after its publication, it was independently rediscovered through similar reasoning by the brilliant Dahlite heatsink worker, Yugo Amaryl, who was unaware of Bigell's prior work until it was pointed out to him by Hari Seldon.
