The Elders' Aerie is a location in Isaac Asimov's Foundation series.
Description[]
Elders' Aerie is the restricted upper-level sanctuary within the Mycogenian Sacratorium on Trantor. A private chamber located up several flights of stairs from the main hall of the Sacratorium, the Elders' Aerie is reserved solely for the highest-ranking Mycogenian officials, the Elders. In stark contrast to the austere and mournful main hall below, the Aerie is furnished for comfort with wide chairs, small tables, desks, a refrigerator, and cabinets. It is here that the most sacred artifact of Mycogen is housed: a silent, motionless, metallic humanoid robot, a symbol of the people's lost greatness on Aurora.
Hari Seldon and Dors Venabili's illegal entry into this sanctuary constitutes the ultimate sacrilege in Mycogenian law, a crime punishable by death, and leads to their direct confrontation with Elder Sunmaster Fourteen and their subsequent rescue by Chetter Hummin.
