Elgin Marron is a character from Isaac Asimov's Foundation series.
About Elgin[]
Elgin Marron was a criminal and gang leader from the Billibotton Sector of Dahl on Trantor. A large, muscular, and arrogantly proud Dahlite, Elgin Marron led a gang of ten men who preyed on outsiders in the impoverished Billibotton district. His attempted mugging of Hari Seldon and Dors Venabili ended in a humiliating and violent defeat. After dismissing Seldon's challenge to a fair fight, Marron focused his attention on Dors, intending to assault her and rob them both. He was swiftly outclassed by Dors's superior knife-fighting skills; she inflicted a cut on his chest, a deep gash across his palm, and a final, disfiguring slash that removed part of his mustache and upper lip, an injury requiring a skin graft. Following this defeat, a humiliated Marron was hospitalized and later filed a formal complaint with Sector Security, falsely accusing Seldon and Dors of an unprovoked attack in an attempt to seek legal revenge for his very public and embarrassing loss.
