Asimov

Hano Lindor is a character from Isaac Asimov's Foundation series.

About Hano[]

Hano Lindor is a Dahlite executive working in the Heat-Sinks of the Dahl district. Lindor is a short, dark-skinned man with black hair and a thick mustache, typical of Dahlite males. As an executive, his role was to oversee operations in the sector's vast geothermal energy production facilities.

He was tasked by Jirad Tisalver with guiding the off-world visitors, Hari Seldon and Dors Venabili, on a tour of the heat-sinks. Pragmatic and knowledgeable about his workplace, Lindor explained the technical and psychological operational details to his guests, such as the use of thermopiles to directly generate electricity and the deliberate maintenance of low lighting to minimize heat-related complaints from workers. He acted as a cultural buffer, warning Dors about potential crude comments from the shirtless workforce and initially attempting to present Seldon and Dors as foreign scholars to avoid alarming the crew. His tour was the direct catalyst for the pivotal moment when a young heatsink worker, Yugo Amaryl, recognized Seldon and initiated the contact that would change Amaryl's life and the future of psychohistory.
