The Imperial Court is the central governing body and the physical palace complex of the Galactic Emperor on Trantor. Located in the Imperial Sector, the Court is the seat of power for the Galactic Empire. During the reign of Cleon I, it was the site of significant political intrigue. Hari Seldon served as First Minister here, and it was within the palace grounds that a corrupt Sergeant of the Guard attempted to assassinate him, an attempt thwarted by Dors Venabili. The Court is characterized by its immense, opulent architecture, sprawling grounds, and intense political maneuvering. It is also where Cleon I held his daily walks and conversations with Seldon, discussing the decay of the Empire and the progress of psychohistory. Following Cleon's assassination, the Court became the seat of the military junta that briefly ruled the Empire.
