Maloon Cicis is an Auroran roboticist and a member of the Robotics Institute of Aurora under the direction of Dr. Kelden Amadiro. Cicis serves as an aide and communications intermediary for the head of the Institute, Dr. Kelden Amadiro. He is described as having very short, bronze-colored hair and a nose with a mildly asymmetric profile, features that give him a typically Spacer appearance. His primary function is to manage access to the busy and politically powerful Amadiro.
Cicis initially demonstrates a dismissive and superior attitude when contacted by Elijah Baley, refusing his request to speak with Amadiro and attempting to block the meeting based on strict protocol. However, after Baley employs a strategy of blunt accusation and implied public scandal, suggesting Amadiro himself might be a suspect in the deactivation of Jander Panell, Cicis is compelled, albeit with great irritation, to relay the message. He reappears moments later to inform Baley that Amadiro will see him, showcasing his role as a subordinate who ultimately defers to the authority and decisions of his superior.
