About the Squires[]
A Squire is a member of the ruling aristocratic class of the planet Sark. Sarkites of this rank hold a position of extreme privilege and authority over the native Florinians, whom they regard as an inferior race. The term implies inherent nobility and ownership, with even the poorest Sarkite considering themselves superior to any Florinian. The highest rank among them is that of the Great Squire. The social and legal divide between Squires and Florinians is absolute, governing all interaction and reinforcing the rigid, exploitative system that allows Sark to maintain its wealth and power.
