Tribespeople is a role in Isaac Asimov's Foundation series.
Description[]
Tribespeople is the term used by the inhabitants of Mycogen to refer to all humans not of Mycogenian descent. A derogatory and dismissive label, it encapsulates the Mycogenian belief in their own cultural and biological superiority over the rest of the Galactic Empire. Tribespeople are viewed as unclean, primitive, and spiritually impoverished beings who swarm over the galaxy in "hordes." Interaction with them is minimized and strictly regulated; they are generally forbidden from entering Mycogen, with exceptions made only for high-ranking Imperial officials, diplomats, major traders, and the rare scholar. The deep-seated prejudice against tribespeople is a cornerstone of Mycogenian isolationist ideology.
