Wiscard served as Viceroy of Siwenna under Emperor Stannell VII's rule. Following the Emperor's death, he launched a rebellion against the Galactic Empire in a bid for power. His uprising was notably crushed not by Imperial forces but by the local population of Siwenna itself, who resisted his insurrection. After this defeat, Wiscard and the remnants of his army fled to the Red Stars region where they turned to piracy, continuing their opposition to Imperial authority through raids and marauding activities.
The aftermath of Wiscard's rebellion brought severe consequences for Siwenna. Despite the population's role in suppressing the rebellion, the planet suffered exemplary punishment known as the Great Massacre. This harsh retaliation occurred because the Imperial Admiral resented being denied the glory and honors that would have come from defeating Wiscard himself. When a new Imperial Viceroy was appointed, he took retaliatory measures against the population "for having rebelled against an emperor-chosen viceroy," leading to massive reprisals that devastated the planet. As a result of these events, Siwenna lost its status as capital of the Sector.
